Folk Dance & Song Group SW Area

ABOUT US: The Folk Dance & Song Group is a Special Interest Section of The Camping & Caravanning Club (for more info on social camping look here).
South West Area camp all over the South West of England and into South Wales. We generally have 4 or 5 day meets with a hall every night. Our ceilidhs always have a live band.
At our meets, which are open to all members of The Camping & Caravanning Club, we have a hall available each evening (sometimes longer) for folk dancing to live music and we share songs, poems and stories. If you play an instrument there are opportunities for you to join us in the band mostly using Pete Mac’s books. At times we share crafts and games too.
Our next meet will be at Mary Tavy between Okehampton and Tavistock on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Small village with a shop and a pub and with a bus stop just outside the site. Great walking country on the doorstep. Check out more details here

Our meet fees for 2025 will remain as 2024 ~ £9.00 pun + £3.00 pppn unless otherwise stated

Sites generally open at 1pm – please do not arrive before then
(exceptions to this rule will be posted on the meet details page)
Pets are welcome on site but NOT in the halls

Join The Camping and Caravanning Club today to benefit from over 100 years of expertise as well as specially selected discounts tailored to our members. As soon as you are a member you will be assigned to a District Association (DA). This will be the closest DA to where you live and shown on your membership card. You are then free to go camping with any of the 93 DA's over 13 Regions in the UK.
